Подчинительные союзы присоединяют придаточные предложения (см. Subordinate clause) в составе сложноподчиненного предложения (Complex sentence).
К подчинительным союзам относятся:

although — хотя

after — после того как

as — так как, когда, как

as if — как будто

as long as — пока, если

as soon as — как только

as though — как будто

before — перед тем как, прежде чем

because — потому что

even if — даже если

even though — даже хотя

for — так как

for fear that — чтобы ... не

hardly ... when/before — как только

if — если, ли

in case — на случай, если; чтобы ... не

in order that — чтобы

lest — чтобы ... не

like — как будто

no matter what — что бы ни

no matter how — как бы ни

no sooner ... than — как только

notwithstanding (that) — хотя

on condition (that) — при условии что

provided (that) — при условии что

providing (that) — при условии что

scarcely ... when/before — как только

since — так как, с тех пор как

so long as — при условии, что; поскольку

so that — так что, чтобы

suppose (that) — если, предположим (что)

supposing (that) — если, предположим (что)

that — что

though — хотя

unless — если ... не

until — пока ... не

when — когда

whether — ли
